  1. I've only been to Ocracoke one time and it was for ReMe. The beach was beautiful, our own little section behind the house and the larger stretch where we collected all sorts of ocean and beach treasures. I collected all sorts of shells. The smallest, most perfect little shells. The people on the island were so nice. Loved going into all the little shops. A magically, enchanting island that everyone should experience.

    1. I wonder if our paths have ever crossed there in person, Celia?!?!?! I love all of the same things that you mentioned. In fact, I met my husband there fifteen years ago.

The Island touches my heart in a way that's hard to describe, and our friends there have absolutely embraced our ReMe Retreats. I hope to see you there sometime soon. <3

  5. I've visited Ocracoke once and I want to return. To stand firmly, on ever changing sand, the ocean breezes blowing away worries and stress, leaving a clean and open soul, ready to breathe, ahhhhh.

  8. (I think my first comment was lost...) I've never been to Ocracoke. In fact I have not been back to North Carolina in 35 years although I was born there many moons ago. I'm a beach girl so I would love to experience a new area although I'm sure after I've been there I will not want to leave. And by combining beach with Art you've got a match made in heaven.

  10. Ocracoke is an enchanted place - both modern and old. I enjoyed wandering the shopping district and purchasing artisan products. The reception at the book store was delightful. Our Cinco de Mayo dinner from the local restaurant was superb. Our house on the bay was charming and comfortable - lovely views and great sunsets. For those who get to attend, be sure to try the outside shower at night - it's amazingly liberating and renewing. Best of all, the time spent having fun and exploring new concepts in art with the great teachers and wonderful kindred spirits. Many, many remarkable memories and renewal at every turn.

    1. Theresa, yesterday afternoon Jodi, Penny and I met to plan our next ReMe Retreat. We were reminiscing about your reaction to your first ever outdoor shower in the moonlight. It's still one of my favorite memories from May

  11. The beach...North Carolina...art??? What's not to love?!?! Coming from SE FL to be able to visit such a serene, and less developed area would be heaven on earth!

  12. I've never been to Ocracoke, but I've always wanted to visit. Just the thought of quiet walks on the beach, looking for shells, visiting the lighthouse....makes me breathe a little easier. If there was time for fishing, all the better!! Whoever gets to go will have a wonderful time, I'm sure!
